are you looking for a myotherapist in Ryde?
Maybe you are curious about what a myotherapist even does? Well, for starters, they are university trained health professionals that specialise in soft-tissue therapy. They treat the cause of your pain, not just the symptoms. They are very skilled at assessing your condition and applying evidence-based assessments, treatment techniques and rehabilitation principles.
The Myotherapists at Hyperwell Health & Performance treat the cause of your pain, not just the symptoms.
Here are some of the common conditions they can help with..
- Muscle and joint pain/stiffness
- Headaches
- Tendon tears
- Tendinopathies
- Nerve pain (pins and needles, tingling, referred pain)
Following a thorough assessment, your myotherapist will develop a treatment and management plan with you.
As commonly seen with physiotherapists, osteopaths and chiropractors, myotherapists also use a range of treatment techniques, including massage, dry needling, mobilisation, and stretching to help ease your pain.
In addition to hands-on manual therapy, exercise prescription and/or education about pain management, load management, activity modification and/or lifestyle modification may be incorporated. Most myotherapy appointments will include prescriptive rehabilitation exercises for you to take home to assist in your recovery and get you moving again.
Many people choose to see a myotherapist over a massage therapist due to their advanced knowledge and training in musculoskeletal pain, along with the hands-on treatment they provide.
